Vidyarashmi group of institutions is spread across 25 acres on the peak of Vidyagangothri. You can spot the well set campus on 16^th K.M. in the adjacent of Puttur-Kukke Subrahmanya state high way. The great visionary Mr. K. Seetharama Rai Savanoor initiated this venture in the year 2001 in commemoration of his father late Mr. Sheentoor Narayana Rai, who was a soldier, farmer and a teacher. Experienced teachers coach kindergarten students. A dedicated scientifically raised building houses the kindergarten students. The kids love to come and dwell here. The education is backed by advanced technologies and each child is monitored with individual attention. The Karnataka State syllabus in English Medium in the content of education for primary and high schools. Coming to plus two level of education we have Vidyarashmi First Grade College B.Com. and B.A. degrees. Vidyarashmi First Grade College is the result core of the initiative taken by SNR Rural Education trust. It’s based on the E. Malloy’s word “The college degree is not a sign that one is finished product. But an indication that a person is prepared for life. In the year 2001 SNR Rural Education Trust started it’s yeomen service in rural Savanoor to peruse local youth to get basic and degree education.

Message From The Founder

The legend, Rtn. K. Seetharama Rai Savanoor is a multifaceted personality who serves for, along with education, cooperative, agriculture, religion and so on. He ventured into the educational service in the year 2001 with Vidyarashmi Group of Institutions as dreamt by his late father, philanthropist Sheentoor Narayana Rai. As of the date the campus more than a thousand students from Maharashtra, Kerala, A.P, Tamilnadu & Karnataka. The students are provided with all the extremes of extracurricular ranging from traditional Sanskrit to modern Robotics, along with syllabus. Besides his own school, he has generously extended his charity hands to all the neighbouring schools and colleges. The noteworthy achievement that he has been consecutively elected as the president of Rotary Charitable Trust, Sullia for three terms. He is the key person to develop the national level figures Dr Shivarama Karantha Balavana at Puttur of Dakshina Kannada district. He fostered the traditional game Lagori for which a separate tournament by name Shinare Rashmi is held. Similarly to foster the art and culture he stages the state level event Kalarashmi. As a cooperative, he owns his Adarsha Vividhoddesha Sahakara Sangha centred at Puttur with 12 branches across the district, where he gives away more than 3 lakhs Rupees in the form of scholarship. In addition, he serves D.K. Milk Federation, at present as a director, ex-Vice President & Director of district cooperative bank D.K., director of District Mass Cooperative Society D.K., Director of Ramakrishna Credit Cooperative Society and so on. He is fond of lifting the religious area too. He is always in the forefront of development programs of the neighboring temple with a good economic contribution. He offers more than Rs. Sixty Thousand to the poor and brilliant students every year in his own school Vidyarashmi. During the annual celebration of his father’s birthday on 14th of August Rs. 35,000/- is offered in the form scholarship to the needy and deserving students. He is the key to all round development of Savanoor and popularly known as ‘Savanoorina Shilpi’ (The architect of modern Savanoor).
